The iPad2 has just been released. I ventured down to the flagship store on Regents Street to see what all the hype is about.
Never have I seen a line of people that long. It went down Regents Street around the corner in one of the side streets and then 6 blocks down.
This photo is only the tip of the iceberg. From this photo above the line goes another 3 blocks back. Obsessed much?
I managed to get right up at the front doors when they opened for the lucky first few to enter. There was a great vibe in the store with hundreds Apple staff clapping and cheering.
Meet Michael Roberts. This chap was the eighth person to get their hands on the new iPad 2. He waited in line for 25 hours to be one of the first to get his hands on the new tech. He was actually second in line but sold his spot for £400.00 to some other Apple fanatic. Clever move because he used that money to pay for his iPad 2.
So basically he waited 25 hours for a free iPad 2.
Would you?
I will be posting some videos and more pictures on the Facebook page a bit later, so go check it out.
UPDATE: Check out the video footage of the action at the release of iPad2 in London.
