Blitz Vintage Store – epicenter for vintage fashionistas

I ventured down to Brick Lane this morning in search of the much hyped about vintage store Blitz. This new store which opened its doors 10 days ago has settled into its space quite nicely.

One thing is evident when walking through the door, this is no average vintage clothing store. This is a vintage department store. There are 5 rooms with the goods displayed sparingly throughout. Blitz occupies a space of just over 9000 square feet. Its like Harrods for vintage clothing less the snobs.

I am not a big vintage clothing buyer for two big reasons. Firstly the shops always smell and the stock is packed so tightly that its tough to see any of it. Blitz is nothing like this. There is enough space to wonder around and enjoy the fashion of years gone past.

You will find carefully chosen, affordable vintage clothing for both men and women (and some children’s pieces) including rare vintage clothing from America and Europe, vintage furniture, records, books, jewellery, home ware, sunglasses, watches, bikes, movie posters, luggage and an in store coffee shop that uses vintage coffee makers.

The owners of this store is trying to create not just a shop but also a venue for like minded fahsionistas to explore the world which is no more.

Blitz gets the LL nod.
